It’s common knowledge and a running joke amongst many of my friends, that I am related to every other person in Ireland, so it’ll come as no surprise that my first set of photographs (on my brand spanking new website!) is of a cousin of mine Neil McCambridge, who asked me to take some images of he and his lovely little family.
I jumped at the chance for a couple of reasons; Neil now lives in what used to be my fixed abode where I lived with my dad, so not only had I the opportunity to take some photos of his beautiful other half Emma and their scrumptious children Lola and Lexi but it also meant I got to walk around what was ‘my’ old house and ‘my’ old room and think of the good times I shared there…
Having spent a few hours with Neil, it was just lovely to see how settled he is with his 3 girls – a proper family man at last! A far cry from the boy who used to *do the hedges or play *knick knock with a group of us on the Cushendall Road many moons ago.
Emma and Neil, you’ve both done an amazing job on creating two beautiful, chilled out and loveable children and I hope you have many a happy year together, in ‘my’ old house…
Thanks for the fry up!
* Do the hedges – running through people’s gardens and umm, jumping their hedges.
* Knick knock – if bored with doing the hedges, we’d run up to people’s houses, knock on their door, take to our hind legs and scarper as fast as our little legs would carry us. Every-man-for-themselves.
(Neither of the above was ingenious, big or clever – but it was bloody great fun at aged 10.)
